Fate Extella Link was released March 19, 2019 in North America for the Playstation 4, Playstation Vita, Steam on the PC, and the Nintendo Switch. It also released with a Special Edition known as the Fleeting Glory Edition. This Unboxing review is about the Switch special edition. Feel free to watch my review video (posted below) before or after you read this article.
Fate Extella Link Fleeting Glory switch edition has a multitude of items included with the game.

The box includes:
⦁ The soundtrack CD
⦁ A 4.5″ wide 3-D diorama featuring Francis Drake, Scathach, and Nero Claudius
⦁ 3″ x 5″ set of ten servant cards
⦁ A 17″ x 24″ cloth wall scroll
Included with the game is a special code for a costume for both Scathach and Nameless. There is a game manual, that inside includes four bonus costumes for people with a Fate Extella the Umbral Star save file.
This bonus include:
⦁ Crimson Noble Wear for Nero
⦁ Head Nurse of Steel for Altera
⦁ Student Outfit for Tamamo no Mae
⦁ Lapis Lazuli dress for Artoria Pendragon
For durability the collectors box feels sturdy enough that unless you intentionally try to destroy it should stay together and protect the contents.
First on the review list would be the 4.5″ wide 3-D diorama. The diorama comes in four pieces:
⦁ The Base
⦁ Background
⦁ Fate/Extella Link Logo
⦁ The main piece having the three characters
The first thing that you should do is remove the protective covering from the front of each piece. This is difficult and may make you think there is no plastic covering, but don’t get fooled. It does have a covering, and the diorama looks ten times better without it. Removing the covering makes it so the different parts of the diorama slot together more easily. For the quality of the item each piece is very vibrant in colour, they don’t get smudged very easily, and it takes quite a lot or a specific tool to scratch them.

The cloth wall scroll focuses on Tamamo No Mae on the top left, Nero Claudius on the top right, the Fate/Extalla Link logo in the bottom right corner, and in the lower center in between the other servants is Charlemagne. When you have the scroll hangin on a wall or a backdrop for a picture it looks picture perfect and makes a great focus piece. Touch wise the cloth is very smooth and soft except for some slightly frayed edges from the factory cutting.
We are now onto the the ten servant cards. Each card is numbered in roman numerals in the top left corner. They star with XVII, or otherwise 17, and go up to XXVI,or 26. It features the new 10 servants that were added to the original 16.
Every card has the servants class and title on it:
⦁ Saber Charlemagne
⦁ Archer Arjuna
⦁ Rider Astolfo
⦁ Archer Robin Hood
⦁ Rider Francis Drake
⦁ Berserker Lancelot
⦁ Berserker Darius III
⦁ Lancer, Scathach
⦁ Caster Gilles De Rais
⦁ Ruler Rex Magnus or Karl der große in other versions of the game
Picture wise the character portraits are well drawn and when you hold a card in front of a light you get a real nice look at the night sky background. Lastly, the quality of the cards is high and they are very easy to clean if you spill or get something sticky on them. You can bend them in half and the card will straighten itself right away when you let go.
The last main thing I will talk about before I close this article is the REALLY amazing original soundtrack by MONACA who are known for the work they did on NIER and NIER AUTOMOTA and other games and anime. The soundtrack has 26 songs on it that range from one minute and twenty-six seconds to five minutes and seven seconds. Overall the soundrack is very upbeat in quite a few songs and really capture the emotion of the moment or the theme of the character. With the few songs with vocal tracks, the voices really enhance the ambiance of the songs.
In closing do I feel that this edition was worth the $99.99 canadian over the $59.99 stardard editon game? Yes I really feel picking up this editon was worth the extra $40 dollars. Alone the soundtrack would be about $25 and I felt that the cards, diorama, cloth scroll easily raised the price the needed $15 to equal the price increase. At the end of things, IF you are a fan of the Fate/Extra games or just a fan of the Fate series in general, do I believe you should by the Fleeting Glory edition for whatever system you own? It is a big yes! otherwise the decision is totally up to you.
